Wind
El Gouna is known for its consistent wind and ideal kiting conditions as the wind blows in from the North, creating a steady wind speed throughout the year. From March to November the wind is at its strongest and most reliable, ranging from 20-25 knots. In the winter months of December to February, the wind is a bit lighter, averaging around 12-18 knots, but still very reliable so it is still possible to kite.
On average, El Gouna experiences over 300 windy days per year, which means that you can kite almost every day, giving you the best opportunity of kiting on your vacation. The direction of the wind is predominantly side-onshore, which makes it perfect for kiteboarding, allowing riders to cruise upwind and downwind with ease. This also ensures that riders always have a safe way to return to the KitePeople beach.
Overall, the wind conditions in El Gouna are excellent. We have a wind meter at our station to keep you updated and our experienced team have a sixth sense when the wind is coming, so be sure to ask their advise.
