As an IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) internationally recognized kite centre, you will be taught by certified instructors with the main focus on safety and independence. Please note the minimum age for the Kite Basic course is 12 years old and are taught in English, unless a specific language has been requested and confirmed by our reservations team.

The comprehensive beginner courses (1 – 4 days) are taught in groups of max. of 2 students per instructor and will turn anyone into a safe and confident IKO level II kiteboarder. We will go through the theory and start practicing with a small trainer kite on land until you feel confident enough to go with a bigger inflatable kite into the water for some fun rounds of body dragging! The final touch will be the water start. All equipment is included in the cost as is equipment insurance.

Kitesurfing

In 1977 a Dutch surfer called Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuise was the first man to patent a sport that we know today as Kitesurfing. Kitesurfing is an exciting water sport that involves riding on a board while being propelled by a kite. It’s a popular activity for thrill-seekers and those who love being out on the water. To get started, kite surfers use a kite to harness the power of the wind and propel themselves across the water. The kite is attached to the rider with a harness, which allows them to control the kite and steer the board.

Kitesurfing can be a challenging sport to learn, but with the right instruction and practice, anyone can become proficient. It’s important to receive proper training and use the correct equipment, including a kite, board, harness, and safety gear, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. f you’re looking for an exciting new activity to try, kitesurfing is the sport for you. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, there’s always something new to learn and enjoy in this exhilarating sport.

What is

Kite foiling?

Kite foiling is a relatively new discipline within the kitesurfing world that is rapidly gaining popularity. It involves riding a board with a hydrofoil attachment, which lifts the rider and board out of the water, reducing drag and allowing for higher speeds and smoother rides.

The hydrofoil consists of a long, narrow wing attached to the bottom of the board, which creates lift as it moves through the water. The rider balances on the board while controlling the kite, using the wind to generate power and lift the foil out of the water. One of the main advantages of kite foiling is that it allows riders to ride in much lighter wind conditions than traditional kitesurfing. This makes it a great option for locations with inconsistent wind conditions or for riders looking for a new challenge.

Kite foiling can be more challenging to control than traditional kitesurfing, however with the with the right lesson module and our experienced instructors, anyone can learn to foil and experience the thrill of riding on the water like never before.

      • If you’re a completely new to kitesurfing this is the course for your. Our beginner course is structured to teach you how to practice the basic fundamentals of kitesurfing in a hassle free, safe shallow water environment, where you will learn basic controls and various safety rules, including;

        • Safety systems use & safety steps
        • Launching and landing of the kite
        • First piloting and exploring the wind window’s edge

        Objective

        The aim of the Newbie course is to get you comfortable controlling the kite, understand the kite safety features, learn about wind conditions and how to set-up the equipment correctly before. By the end of the lesson you will be using the kite to pull you through the water (with board) to get a feeling of the kite and work on your control techniques, we call this body-drag.

          Objective

          The aim of this course is to get you to a level where you can ride independently and if you progress well, even learn a few tricks like your first jump. It’s time to become an independent rider and the more you learn, the more passionate you will become about kiteboarding! As an independent rider, you will be awarded an IKO certificate and you’ll be able to ride on your own and rent equipment wherever you go.

          • Time to reach new possibilities! You have completed the intermediate level and are now ready to become a more advanced rider. In this course you will learn more about the art of kiteboarding with a focus on the following areas;

A refresher kitesurfing course can help you remember and learn more of the basics in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our refresher courses are designed for experienced kitesurfers, whom have completed their lessons previously, but need to brush up on their skills. You will cover:

                • Review basic and advanced kite flying techniques

In just 30 minutes, our experienced instructors evaluate your proficiency to ensure you can kite without assistance.

                    Objective

                    The aim of the level assessment is to ensure you have adequate training to kite alone. If our assessment reveals that you require additional instruction or practice to reach a level of independence, we will ask you to take lessons from our certified instructors. These lessons will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to kitesurf confidently and responsibly.

                We got to spend two weeks at this great place and really enjoyed it!

                The guys on the beach are absolutely professional and always patient, helping you where they can and giving tips as they know the spot very well. The spot felt familiar and there was enough space as there were not too many kiters. Also, it’s great that the spot has a second lagoon a bit further out, so advanced kiters have their own flatwater playground while beginners can stay close to the beach 🙂 I can absolutely recommend the place and I will be back for sure!                 Amazing kite spot and staff!

                We had a 5 hours courses with Bibo. We highly recommend him, we improved a lot thanks to him. He is very nice, calm and teaches very well. He provides great advices and gives confidence to his students. We are very thankful to having him as our coach. Great equipment and kite center as well!

                I had taken several course from other kite schools.

                My best experience was with Kitepeople. Well organized, clean, they have an area specific for teaching. Independent or advance kites have their own area, a big plus for me, shallow waters. They also have a rescue boat that will pick you up if you drift too far. Not to mentioned the staff are very friendly and easy going. My husband rented for 6 days and they were flexible and worked with him when there was no wind. Great customer service! Very professional.

                I strongly recommend Kitepeople El Gouna

                + the staff,including monitor, cool, friendly and efficient. + the spot is close (2min by foot) from the hotel so very convenient, plus it has shallow water so very practical when you learn kitesurfing. + you have access to deep sea + The prices are okay and fair + Rental material was ok! + Instructor very nice I strongly recommend Kitepeople El Gouna for everyone into kitesurfing or willing to learn.

                I had an unforgettable time at the KitePeople school.

                It is right next to the mövenpick Hotel but also very good reachable from other apartments/hotels in El gouna. You can just use a tuktuk which cost you like 1 euro. There is a very nice atmosphere hanging around with great passionate and friendly people.
